When Colin first received his drivers contract for Prodrive, it was initially only to drive the Legacy in the British Rally Championship. They also carted him around the world to the WRC rounds as a mechanic, so he could become familiar with the team & gain a respect for the work of the service men. David Richards joked that if things didn’t work out for Colin as a driver he would always have a spot as a mechanic as he proved to be pretty handy with a wrench.
Collin’s first contract with Prodrive was £10,000.
